PA bill restricting abortions sparks outrage

State Rep. Leanne Krueger-Braneky, D-161, is expressing outrage at a bill that passed the House banning elective abortions in the state after 20 weeks.

Against the advice of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Republican-dominated state House of Representatives Tuesday night passed what has been deemed as the most restrictive abortion ban in the country.

“This attack on female reproductive health is not only an embarrassment to the entire state of Pennsylvania but, more importantly, it puts the health of our pregnant women at significant risk with no input from doctors and the medical community,” said state Rep. Leanne Krueger-Braneky, D-161, of Swarthmore who unsuccessfully led the charge to defeat the bill.
